Thunder20

Appearance[]

Thunder is a female german shepherd with a lightning bolt mark over her left shoulder. she's got a light brown body, a darker brown hood that covers her face and her back, continuing up the length of her tail. Her front paws have daker brown socks with tan toes. Her muzzle, chest, left ear tip, and tail tip are tan and she has bright golden eyes.

When she gets adopted by Penny, she starts to wear a dark navy-blue collar with a golden, circular tag

Personality[]

Thunder is rather closed off to those she doesn't know. Because of her trust issues, she tends to come off as cold and stand-offish, making herself as intimidating as possible so others don't want to get close to her. When she does open herself up and relax, she has a bit of a snarky and sarcastic sense of humor. She's incredibly loyal to those she loves and is a bit too intense when it comes to expressing her emotions. Thunder becomes snappy and bitter whenever she's upset, resulting in tears even if she's just mad. This is why she tries to keep herself closed away and bottle up her emotions to keep her intimidating appearance.

When she becomes a mother, she learns how to hold back her anger and tries to learn more about patience and softens up so she doesn't scare her pups. While Bolt is the more playful parent, she's stern and teaches the kids about discipline. She is the most affectionate of the two though, often initiating cuddle piles and snuggles with the family.

Bio[]

Thunder was adopted from the farm by a young man who lived in New York. when she was just a young pup, very happy and naive- growing up with Mittens in their home for 3 months- until they were both abandoned. Thunder was only 5 months old- she was optimistic and naive at first, thinking that they just forgot and would come back for them, but of course, they did not. 5 years the duo lives on the streets and Thunder became colder towards humans, unable to trust them. Mittens is the only one that Thunder trusts, becoming the Brawn of Mittens' food schemes: while the cat is the brain, hatching up plans to get the pigeons to do her bidding- Thunder is the reinforcement- lurking in the shadows until Mittens brings her in for a little intimidation. Although she didn't like going near the humans as much, Thunder knew how to use her charms to beg and gain food, as Mittens taught her. But because they were in the city a lot of the time and the humans were bustling around, Thunder felt uncomfortable being around so many people and left begging to a last resort. While the four animals travel towards Hollywood, Thunder finds herself slowly becoming more attached to Bolt and loosens up. She even finds herself learning to be a dog again while Mittens begins to teach Bolt, forgetting how great it felt to be carefree and playful when for so long she had been scared and on her toes. While in Vegas, Thunder and Bolt wander the streets a bit to marvel at all the lights and get more food from the tossed buffets. The two begin to bond more as they have a heart to heart and Bolt tells her that she matters, that she shouldn't be afraid and that he'll be by her side. Later the next day when Mittens tells Thunder about Bolt's decision to keep going to find Penny instead of staying in their cardboard homes with just the them, she just breaks inside: feeling like she's being abandoned all over again. She shuts down and closes herself off again, cursing at herself that she let her guard down.

Upon finding out Bolt and Penny were in trouble, Mittens and Rhino catch a ride with them to the hospital while Thunder chases after the ambulance, too heavy to hide on the stretcher. Mrs. Forrester is surprised while they rushed Penny inside to find Mittens and Rhino in the Ambulance and a panting, crying Thunder waiting outside the door. The ambulance was preparing to get Bolt dropped off at the Emergency vet when Thunder jumped in and nuzzled against Bolt's tail as the woman held the unconscious dog against her lap, she silently let them all stay while the ambulance driver went off towards the vet.

When Penny and Bolt brought back from the hospital and come back to Penny's hollywood home, Penny recognizes Thunder from when she was a little kid and went to pick out Rai at the farm, recognizing the pattern against her shoulder. Mrs. Forrester gets Mittens and Thunder checked out at the vet and scan them for a microchip. While both of them were registered to a number, any attempts at calling the owner were lead to a disconnected tone. Judging by their scrawny appearances and filthy coats, they made the conclusion that Mittens and Thunder were abandoned and the vet changed the information over to Mrs. Forrester's information. While they had a few name choices in mind for the two, the animals don't respond to their names until Penny lands on the correct ones, earning an ear perk from the shepherd and a loud meow from Mittens.Thunder doesn't really like Rhino- but puts up with him anyways. Thunder slowly gets accustomed to family life and even happily accepts a collar from Penny. She was so overwhelmed with joy as the realization this was going to be a permanent home set in that she began to cry. She went to hide under the couch because she was embarrassed and didn't want them to see her that way.

Thunder tends to get very anxious when Penny or Mrs. Forrester leave to go out somewhere, but is very happy when they return. It took her a while to admit her feelings for Bolt, but after an accident with chocolate Thunder gets over her pride and tells him that she loves him. The family had made appointments to get Bolt and Thunder neutered once they finished getting settled into their new home. Their agent made them wait to get Bolt altered in their contract because he figured breeding Bolt and selling pups would get him a fortune once Bolt ended up retiring from the show, but that plan was immediately changed once Penny quit. When the day came to go the vet, the tech mentioned that Thunder was already pregnant, much to the humans' surprise. Months later, after moving to their new rural home, they welcome a litter of 7 into the world, Misty , Kaia , Cirrus , Whirlwind , Cyclone , Windi, and Twister. While Misty and Kaia become bonded to Penny, the rest of the pups get put up for adoption. Thunder has a hard time letting her babies go when they were ready to be adopted, but thankfully they were all given homes around the neighborhood and Thunder is allowed to see her babies whenever she wants to. The pups often coming over for puppy playdates with their siblings or all of them meet up at a park or nearby field to run around to their heart's content.
